Nigerian attacker, Victor Osimhen, has given reasons why he cannot play for Turkish giants, Fenerbahçe or any other club in Istanbul.
This is following growing speculation linking the Napoli striker with a move to Fenerbahçe.
The former Lille star said he would wear out if he joins Jose Mourinho’s Yellow Canaries.
The former Flying Eagles attacker had a successful loan spell with Super Lig champions Galatasaray, after it was clear he would not play for Napoli under Antonio Conte.
He provided 37 goals and eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray.
The 26-year-old former Serie A Golden Boot winner is wanted by several clubs across Europe this summer but the striker is not in a hurry to pick his next destination.
The likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray and Juventus are said to be interested in signing Osimhen but in an interview quoted by habersarikirmizi, Osimhen said he cannot play for Fenerbahçe or clubs in the Turkish capital.
“I was intimidated by the fanaticism in Napoli. The fanaticism in Türkiye is greater than Napoli,” he said.
“If I were to move from one club to another in Istanbul, I would be worn out. I am not keen on that.”
The 26-year-old’s statement now put to rest rumours of a potential shock move to Fenerbahçe.
