The Lagos State Government has sealed a residential property located at No. 59, Ajoke Okusanya Street, off Ago Palace Way in Okota.
The action was taken after the discovery that raw sewage was being discharged from a septic tank directly into the public drainage system.
The enforcement operation was carried out on Saturday by the Lagos State Wastewater Management Office, LSWMO, under the supervision of the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, through a post on his official X handle.
Wahab condemned the act, describing it as both a violation of environmental laws and a significant public health hazard.
He stated that the government would not condone such conduct due to the health risks associated with the contamination of water sources and the potential to trigger disease outbreaks.

“This act constitutes environmental pollution and a threat to public health,” Wahab’s post read.
The commissioner also stressed the government’s commitment to identifying and sanctioning individuals who breach environmental safety standards, as part of broader efforts to maintain a clean and safe living environment across the state.
The case gained public attention after a concerned resident recorded and shared a video on the social media platform X, capturing sewage being funneled from the residential compound into the adjacent gutter via a hose.
