Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has identified with all persons with albinism across Nigeria and the world, noting that they deserve not only equal rights but the dignity, safety, and healthcare needed to live full, healthy lives.
She made the remarks as part of solidarity on the 2025 International Albinism Awareness Day.
“I stand in solidarity with all persons with albinism across Nigeria and the world,” she said.
This year’s Albinism Awareness Day is themed ‘Demanding our Rights: Protect our Skin, Preserve our Lives’.
She rallied all Nigerians to support those with albinism, saying it is a great call to action. “It reminds us that people with albinism deserve not only equal rights but also the dignity, safety, and healthcare needed to live full, healthy lives”.
The First Lady also pledged to continue to strengthen advocacy for inclusive policies and public education that protect the rights of persons with albinism.
She added, “We must build a society where every Nigerian, regardless of skin condition, can thrive with pride and dignity. Happy International Albinism Awareness Day!”
