Akwa United head coach Kennedy Boboye has lamented his team’s poor marksmanship in their draw with El-Kanemi Warriors.
The Promise Keepers suffered a setback in their bid to escape relegation after they were held to a 1-1 draw by El-Kanemi at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Sunday.
Winger Osoba Kabir gave the Promise Keepers the lead in the 19th minute, but substitute Wisdom Ndon scored an own goal five minutes from time to hand the visitors a point in the game.
“Honestly, it’s very disappointing and frustrating that we didn’t get all three points against El-Kanemi Warriors,” Boboye told the club’s official website.
“It was a match we should have wrapped up inside the opening thirty minutes, but my players were not prolific enough in front of goal.”
The Uyo club dropped to 18th position on the table, with 38 points from 33 matches.
Akwa United will face Inter Lagos in a President Federation Cup Round of 16 fixture on Wednesday.
