The Brazilian Federation is seriously considering a managerial change as coach Dorival Junior’s position is under review.
This was disclosed by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in a post on X in the early hours of Thursday morning.
“Brazilian Federation are seriously considering a managerial change as now Dorival Junior’s position is under review,” Romano tweeted.
“The dream target for July would be Carlo Ancelotti again, as @geglobo reported — but no negotiations are taking place now as it also depends on Real Madrid.”
This comes after Junior led Brazil to a 4-1 defeat against Argentina in the 2026 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday night.
Junior watched as Argentina humiliated Brazil in Buenos Aires with goals from Julián Álvarez, Enzo Fernández, Alexis Mac Allister, and Giuliano Simeone.
Speaking at his post-match interview, Junior admitted that his team’s plan didn’t work from the first minute of the game to the end against Argentina.
Brazil is currently in fourth position with 21 points in the South American World Cup qualifiers standings.
