Security forces have successfully repelled an attempted kidnapping in Turare village, Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State, rescuing two abducted women unharmed.
According to a post by security analyst, Zagazola Makama on X on Friday, the attack occurred around 2:18 a.m. when armed bandits stormed the village and abducted two wives of a local resident, Yusuf Tsalha Mai Sa’ida.
Makama reported that troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA were swiftly deployed to the area and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel.
“The assailants, overwhelmed by the security forces’ firepower, abandoned their captives and fled with possible gunshot wounds,” he said.
The victims, identified as 35-year-old Dahara Yusuf and 25-year-old Jamila Yusuf, were rescued safely and later reunited with their family.
