Nigeria’s aviation sector tops in ease of doing business in Africa — Keyamo

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, has announced that Nigeria is now ranked top in terms of doing business in Africa.

Keyamo disclosed this in his remarks at the Ministerial Press Briefing on Thursday in Abuja.

While reeling out the recent achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s in the aviation sector, Keyamo noted that Nigeria’s aviation compliance score rose from 49 to 70.5, the highest score Nigeria has achieved to date, following the country’s full compliance with the Cape Town Convention on the dry leasing of aircraft.

He noted that Nigeria’s aviation sector under Tinubu has seen significant achievements, such as the facilitation of the return of Emirates Airline and the takeoff of the African Aviation and Aerospace University.

Also, he identified the revitalisation of Hajj Terminals, the upgrade of Muhammadu Buhari Airport in Maiduguri Airport, the commissioning of E-gates in Lagos, establishment of Taskforce on illegal private jets in Nigerian airports, and the implementation of the Directive on International Airlines to use local caterers.

He added that the Nigerian government plans to initiate the Fly Nigeria Act that would enable public officials to use only domestic airlines for government-funded foreign trips.

“The government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu doesn’t keep things or projects in the pipeline.

“Nigeria is now at the top in the ease of doing business in Africa,” he said.
