2027: Gov Buni warns public office holders against overheating polity

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has warned political office holders and civil servants against overheating the polity to divert the attention of the government and create confusion.

Buni handed down the warning while swearing in newly appointed Permanent Secretaries and other public office holders.

He warned that the government will not tolerate any deliberate act of overheating the polity intended to cause confusion, disaffection, and diversion of the government’s attention from achieving its set goals.

“Any political engagement geared towards 2027 electioneering by public officers and civil servants would be considered a deliberate derailment and sabotage to the government.

“We should be reminded that this administration still has more time to concentrate on its developmental strides, institute good governance, and provide efficient services to the people. You are therefore warned,” he said.

To the newly appointed officials, Governor Buni reminded them that their appointments were based on merit, diligence, loyalty, and in line with the policy of filling existing vacancies in government to promote good governance and enhance the delivery of quality services to the people of the state.

“You are joining the government at a critical moment when the government is putting extra efforts to actualize its campaign promises to improve the lives of our people.

“You are therefore admonished to put in your wealth of experience for the government to achieve its set targets for us to collectively develop the state and build a prosperous Yobe State,” he charged.
