The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has assured residents of the state of comprehensive security arrangements ahead of the Easter celebrations.
This was made known by the command’s spokesperson, SP. Ramhan Nansel in a goodwill message to the Christian community in the state.
According to the statement, CP Shetima extended warm Easter greetings, urging faithfuls to observe the season with reverence to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which he described as the cornerstone of the Easter celebration.
He stated that Easter is a time for love, sacrifice, and renewed faith, and called on all residents to promote peace, compassion, and mutual respect throughout the festivities.
The statement also added that the Commissioner disclosed that the Command has deployed both human and material resources across all 13 Local Government Areas of the state.
According to Nansel, the strategic deployment is aimed at maintaining law and order and guaranteeing the safety of lives and property during and after the holiday period.
“High-visibility policing operations are ongoing across key areas including churches, event centers, motor parks, highways, recreational spots, and other vulnerable locations.
“These operations are backed by intelligence-driven patrols and surveillance activities.” Shetima stated.
He added that all police officers on duty have been directed to exhibit the highest level of professionalism, civility, and respect for human rights while discharging their responsibilities.
Shetima also congratulated, Christians for the successful completion of the Lenten season, which he noted is a time for reflection, spiritual renewal, and self-discipline.
He encouraged residents to celebrate responsibly, remain law-abiding, and remain vigilant by reporting suspicious movements or activities to the nearest security agencies.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to working closely with religious leaders, traditional institutions, and other stakeholders to sustain the peace and security for which Nasarawa State is known.
