United States President Donald Trump on Wednesday said that he wants Iran to be a great and successful country.
Trump, however, said that it would be on the condition that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.
“I want Iran to be a great and successful country, but one that cannot have a Nuclear Weapon. Reports that the United States, working in conjunction with Israel, is going to blow Iran into “smithereens” ARE GREATLY EXAGGERATED.
“I would much prefer a Verified Nuclear Peace Agreement, which will let Iran peacefully grow and prosper. We should start working on it immediately, and have a big Middle East Celebration when it is signed and completed. God Bless the Middle East!,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
DAILY POST reported that Trump moved on Tuesday to sign a presidential memorandum to restore his maximum pressure campaign on Iran.
According to a US official, the move is to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, while seeking to drive down Iran’s oil exports to zero.
The move brings back the tough US policy on Iran that Trump, a Republican, practiced throughout his first term.
However, Tehran responded to Trump’s recent comments regarding his willingness to hold talks with Iran, stating that its relations with foreign countries are based on three principles – dignity, wisdom, and interest.
