A Nigerian electricity distribution company has confirmed that the national grid collapsed for the 13th consecutive time in 2024.
Jos Electricity Distribution Company spokesperson, Friday Elijah disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
The Disco confirmed that bulk power supply was disrupted around 01:33 pm.
“The current outage being experienced within our franchise states is a result of loss of power supply from the national grid.
“The loss of power supply from the national grid occurred this afternoon at about 1333 hours today, Wednesday, 11th December 2024, hence the loss of power supply on all our feeders.
“We hope to restore normal power supply to our esteemed customers as soon as the grid supply is restored back to normalcy,” he stated.
Earlier, DAILY POST reported that the Nigeria has been thrown into darkness after the national grid collapsed again.
DAILY POST reports that the parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, are currently experiencing power outage as of the time filing of this report.
Recall that the national grid collapsed on November 5 and 7, 2024.
Similarly, in October 2024, the national grid also collapsed, throwing the country into darkness.
