A government television employee has been confirmed dead following a strike on a building used by Iran’s national broadcasting service, according to reports from the Fars News Agency, a media outlet affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The attack, which struck a facility in Tehran used by the Islamic Republic of Iran News Network, IRINN, was captured on video and shows a powerful explosion interrupting live programming.
The strike comes amid continued hostilities between Israel and Iran.
The victim has been identified as Masoumeh Azimi, an employee of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, IRIB, the state‑run organisation that oversees numerous national and regional TV and radio stations, including IRINN.
The incident occurred as Israel continues its military campaign targeting Iranian infrastructure.
According to Iranian state media, at least 224 people have been killed in Iran since the bombardment began on Friday.
In retaliation, Iranian strikes have reportedly killed at least 24 people in Israel, according to a statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office.
